  1. Da Chen,
Thank you for your amazing book, China’s Son. I am in 7th grade and just finished the book! Our class loved it! Thanks you for giving me inspiration and courage!

    Sincerely,
    Sydney W.

  2. I absolutely LOVE the way you write! PLEASE write more!!! I cannot get enough!

  3. Da — Glad to meet you at the Sheep Festival. Your book (Colors of the Mountain) was a wonderful read; I greatly enjoyed it. I am a retired teacher. I very much appreciated reading about your life. I look forward to the sequel. My friend Lyle was the one who mentioned “Danny Boy” was a fine Chinese tune. I appreciate you playing all the more after reading your book. Hopefully our paths will cross again.

  4. Just finished reading your book, “Brothers.” What a fantastic book it was!! I am an avid reader and this book rates very high on my list. The way you entertwinded the brothers lives was remarkable! The whole story, just flowed. You are an excellant writer. I look forward to reading more of your books.
    Thank you.
    Robbie
    PS.. Keep writing.. please!

  5. I really enjoyed your talk at plattekill library and hope to begin reading your books soon from the first one and up. You have motivated me in my writing by explaining how to narrow down your thoughts without loosing the importance of the contents intent.

  6. Dear sir,
I read your books many years ago now. When my life went into storage , many books were given away, but yours were treasured. Now back on my shelf my memory, although fading, recalls that there was to be a thrid memoir, yet catching up with your publication none seem to be. Was i mistaken? or am i confused or have you published it already? Please advise as i would so enjoy reading more of your reflections.

  7. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Brothers this summer. I truly felt as though I moved through life with Shento and Tan. I am grateful for redemption and the love you shared, because my hero needed help. I hope to read more. Thank you.

  8. A Brazilian friend told me that she really liked “A Montanha e o Rio”. Is that the Portuguese translation of “Brothers”?

    Thanks.

  9. It was wonderful to meet you at BEA on Monday!

    Sincerely,
    Heather Kerner

  10. Dear Chen Da,
I have read a lot about the Cultural Revolution but never realized how it had such an impact on very young children. I teach college and many of my students would be very inspired of the hard work you did to complete your education. I am eager to read more of your work.
    Sincerely,
    Judith Rathbone
